1998 Cadillac Catera Knocks Motor Oil all over it does the engine have to be replaced or would replacing the cam cover gasket do?

Generally if the engine has a knock you need to have the lifters adjusted and at that point the gaskets could be replaced. Good Luck and Remember.

Something isn't timed properly, either the timing chain or the igniton.
