Check for trouble codes with a scan tool. I worked on a Saturn that had corrosion on the coolant temperature sensor connector which caused the computer to see too low of temperature and it added excessive fuel to the mix. The car barely ran, hads lots of smoke, the gauge on the dash was erratic and a coolant temperature sensor code was stored in the PCM.
the intake are next to the carb and the exhaust are next to the exhaust manafold intake are .008 exhaust are .012 with the engine warm good luck
When the engine is hot .008 intake .012 exhaust or .007 intake .011 exhaust When the engine is cold

Only if you have a lead foot.
A 4-cycle engine that has the intake and exhaust valves located in the cylinder head.
The oxygen sensor on a Saturn can be found in the exhaust manifold at the front of the engine. It simply unscrews and unplugs. 5 minute fix!
grey exhaust smoke is caused by your engine burning oil during the combustion process. this could be caused by a piston ring that doesnt properly seal, or another leak in your engine.
When an exhaust pipe is cool, the exhaust will start to allow water vapor to condense. If the exhaust is white you're seeing a vapor cloud; it's normal and unavoidable. Once the engine and exhaust are warm, the vapor cloud should stop.
what you have to determine is if the engine is a DOHC (SC2, SL2, SW2) or SOHC (SC1, SL1, SW1) engine. they should be interchangable given the engine is the same. Doesnt have to even be the same, single or dual have basically the same lower ends so you can swap any 1.9 Saturn starters.
The oil filter on a 2008 Saturn Astra is located in front of the engine. The oil filter can be found on the underside of the exhaust manifold towards the passenger side of the vehicle.
it varies on the manifold and engine. if it helps move air it will increase horse power, if it doesnt, torque.
inboard gas engine exhaust
exhaust pipe connects to the exhaust manifold, which connects to the main engine.

It does not hurt an engine to run it with no exhaust muffler
Although the control computers are designed specifically for your vehicle, some of the coding inside is more general in nature. A 4 cylinder Saturn only has 1 "bank" of cylinders as opposed to a V6 engine, which has a left and right bank of cylinders. That said: the primary oxygen sensor for a 4 cylinder Saturn is near the base of the exhaust manifold and the connection to the exhaust headpipe. The oxygen sensor is the only thing with an electrical connection that screws into the exhaust manifold in that area.
