1999 Silverado 1500 starts but you put it in reverse and the kill switch kills the engine Whats going on How do you reset the security system to not kill the truck when you put it in drive?

take and undo the battery for 30sec and that should reset then computer if not then put you key to the run pusishon with out starting it push the gas pettal down to the flower 3 to five times then tern the key of then back to the run posishon with out starting it then off then start the truck theis should reset the computer.

I experienced this same problem before too. The security system could be the problem. The imobaliser shuts of the car if it thinks there is a problem with the ignition(if it was hotwired).

99 Chevy Silverado Coolant leaking into the oil?
That is a common problem with the vortec 350 engines. The intake manifold gasket starts leaking in the corners of it. That is where the water jackets are and it's only about 1/4 of an inch wide and when it starts leaking it allows engine coolant to leak into the lifter gallery and into the oil. Need to replace intake gasket as long as you no it did not freeze and crack the engine block.
