: Had problem of coolant leak not visable on my 1999 Pontiac Grand AM SE. Turned out that IT WAS the intake manifold gasket that was defective and the cause was the DEX-COOL (orange coolant) that was causing the problem. It chemically was attacking the material that was in the gasket causing it to breakdown prematurely. There is a class action law suit going on now against GM for this very reason. I had the intake manifold gasket replaced and also flushed out the (orange) DEX-COOL antifreeze and replaced it with the standard green antifreeze. After 7 years, I have had no problems. How do you remove the fuel pump from a pontaic Grand Am GT 2001
Push.
you gotta go to a GM for that
If it's the original type of coolant it has to be Dexcool approved coolant, which is reddish in color. Most people, including myslef switch to the green color coolant when flushing the cooling system. I recommend this as Dexcool is known to "gum up" and clog engines. This usually only happens when the coolant is left in too long, or not changed when recommended. NEVER mix different color coolants, that will cause the same effect
Fluid is added through the dip stick reciever.
