2000 Cherokee parking lights out front and back driverside only bulbs good any suggestions?

I recently had a similar problem with my 1998 cherokee- after looking into the issue I found that there was a short in the wiring harness in the back tail gate. Apparently the wires crack due the opening and closing of the rear hatch. I hope this helps Jim
