2000 metro your day time lights work and so does your bright but when you cut on regular lights they cut off What is causing this?

it`s in the steering column. mine did it! my uncles` did it! 1200 dolars to fix!!

finding the Intermittent shortOn the 2000 Chevy metro i get a shift Selector code after the fuse has blown. also the auto transmission has to be pulled into low gear and so on. I will be hooking a headlamp up in place of the fuse so i can wiggle wires and move the shifter to see wen the short lights it up bright. I hope this helps, and if i can get back with the exact fix i will.
