From what I've found with my 2002 envoy, apparently there are issues with the fuse panel under the hood. If you remove the 2 covers on the fuse panel, you will see 3 bolts that hold the fuse box to the frame. These bolts also serve as a ground for that panel. Make sure they are all tight and even try loosening them and re-tightening them to make sure they are making good contact with the frame. I had one occasion where my envoy died in a driveway because I checked the fuses for issues and it caused that panel to loose ground. The other issue came about 2 weeks ago while I was on my way home on a 4 hour trip. It cut out unexpectantly while I was driving. I asked my dealership if this was a common problem and he said yes.
Have engine computer tested
Usually a sighn of bad alternator.
First guess would be the pick up coil in the distributor
it could be the main assembly relay under the drivers kickpanel
Had same problem on my 03. Replaced the fuel and air filter and had plugs replaced. Ran like new after. Dont know which its was but a place to start.
sounds like ignition module. Check for spark while cranking engine when it decidedly shuts down on you.
fuel pumps about to go out -or more likely your electronic control module is failing.
If your 2000 Ford Expedition shuts off while driving it you should discontinue use of the vehicle immediately. Then have the vehicle towed to your local dealership or mechanic shop to address the problem,
There could be a few reasons why a 2000 Chevy Impala shuts off while driving. There could be a problem with the fuel pump, a bad spark plug, or even a loose battery cable.
it may be the o2 scensor
engine rubber mounts or timin out
if no warning and it just shuts down but dash lights and radio light up check ignition switch
