Subject: GM front wheel speed sensor harness replacement Vehicle Involved: 2001-2003 Buick Century, Regal 2001-2003 Chevrolet Impala, Monte Carlo 2001-2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue 2001-2004 Pontiac Grand Prix Condition: The front wheel speed sensor harness on the above listed vehicles may come into contact with the tie rod end stud. Wear on the harness may occur causing an intermittent, or constant ABS light to be illuminated. Repair Procedure: Replace the original equipment wheel speed sensor harnesses by splicing in the revised new harnesses available from GM dealers. The new harnesses have a different length, and have revised retention clip locations. In some cases the wheel speed sensor may have become damaged. Inspect the sensors. Problem with the ABS. The Traction Control is off because it uses the ABS to control traction. As this is part of the TC system it has also shut down. Have the problem with the ABS repaired by a professional and both will start working again.
