Check for low fluid level, or a loose filter inside the pan.
Low transmission fluid and/or fluid leak.
try lucas transmission treatment. check the throttle valve cable to see if it has come off. change fluid and filter.
get it service.
It's a sealed system so there is not dipstick. If it slips, take it in...if it's leaks take it in. I personally hate that ;-)
You could be low on transmission fluid. The same thing happened to me.
Check fluid level Replace fluid and filter if it hasn't been done recently - may save a transmission rebuild
Try changing fluid and filter. i did that to mine when it started acting just like that and slipping....the filter runs about 7 bucks and the trans fluid about 15.....solved it for a bit but still slips....moneysaver till you can replace it tho.
"I have a Mirage 94. When it gets hot, the transmission slips."
Transmission Flush help my Ford! Same issue here.
You probably have a slipping clutch band in your transmission. Take it to a transmission shop.
When the cold transmission slips when shifting in the second gear, it means that either the fluid level is not correct or the filters are faulty. When this happens, your gearbox may need extensive repair or may need replacement.
As it heats up, it slips more.
