Tach is driven by a motor signal, speedo is from the trans the sensor is bad on the transmission
You've got an electrical fault, and it's not fuses.
yes
check all of your fuses all you have to do is do an ohm test probe one side and the other side you dont even have to take them out
Why?
I have an 88 Jeep Comanche and have replaced the cluster bulbs and also replaced the whole cluster to a new cluster with a tach. You have to remove the dash trims (3 screws), then it will expose the screw for the cluster. Remove those and carefully pull out the cluster. It may not have enough slack due to the speedo cable and you may have The Cluster with a tach beside the Speedo plugs in just like the older one with no problem. Just make sure that the speedo cable clip that attaches to the new cluster with a tach fits the same or you may have to replace the speedo cable to match.
Yes, the cluster assembly is failing.
If the speedometer and tachometer are not working in a 1994 Nissan Kingcab 4X4 V6, it could be that a fuse is burned out. It could also be that their mechanisms in the undercarriage are corroded or dirty if the vehicle was used for 4-wheeling off road.
a speedo works off speed of vehicle and comes from transmission. a tacho measures engine revs and reads from engine or computer. neither have anything to do with other unless both are built into same electronic dashboard
If your car has a distributor it is the negative on the coil.
you need to replace the solid state circuit board in the speedometer cluster, the one for the speedo not the one for the tach, probably cheaper to find a working replacement cluster.patriotrider@comcast.net
