i would check over all your wires first make sure nothing is open or rubbing and that all your grounds are connected and tight, if that is all good most likely culprit would be the CDI

I have a 99 Sable with the OHV 3.0 liter. I have the same problem. Things I have changed so far: the engine computer or (PCM) , the crankshaft position sensor, and the ignition coil.
