6.5 diesel smokes when i push it down and poor cold weather starting but good warm weather starting new glow plugs and no catalytic converter because it was plugged what could be wrong?

i'm not a diesel man but i think that you are spraying to much diesel. my dads duramax starting smokin when you pressed the accelerator after performance chip from bully dog was programed (boosts fuel pressure)
