The brake light switch on the brake pedal may not working correctly. I was able to fix this on my 99 Ford Ranger.
Remove both the plastic and metal panels below the steering column, to allow eye sight of the pedal switch.
Pull the eye pin to release and pull it from the pedal stud. Unplug the switch.
You can now replace the switch with a new one or try to fix the original as I did.
Open the original switch and remove the copper connections. The silver connections should be flat and corrosion free. Mine had a electrical surge melt some of the connection. To get it flat again simply use some fine sand paper on a flat surface, and clean with alcohol.
Reassemble.
if turn signals are working , and brake lights not working, i would replace the stop light switch on the brake pedal
I imagine that more than likely the problem is going to be easy to fix by replacing the fuse.
4x4 dash lights not working 94 ranger
More than likely you are having Electrical issues with your 2001 Ford Ranger brake lights. Contact your local service dealer for further information.
the fuse panel on my 98 is on the left end of the dash. open the door to see it. my brake lights stopped working but did not blow the fuse. had to change the brake switch located on the brake pedal. good luck
Check fuse # 3 , that is a 15 amp fuse for your parking lights if all 4 don't work
i cannot get the brake lights to work
u have a short in ur wireing.
The tail lights are on a separate wiring than the blinker/brake lights. Look for a blown fuse or a broken/loose wire.
Check your brake lights and see if they are working. Ford has it so if your brake lights are out you can not shift out of park.
burnt fuse ... tail lights are on a different circuit than stop or turn lights
Check your brake light switch at hte brake pedal.
