I am having same issue with mine I was thinking it is passlock i was told to take to dealer and have body control module re flashed , but I was also told it could be fuel pump not allowing car to start
It is in the side of the engine block behind the starter. You will have to remove the starter to see it and to get to it.
It should be above the starter on the engine block.
when you return the key to the on position, it ceases to power the starter motor and the Bendix spring retracts.
COLD ENGINE STARTING OR STARTING AFTER REFUELING --Set unit on a flat surface. --Slowly press the primer bulb 6 times. --Move choke lever to FULL CHOKE position. --Squeeze the throttle trigger fully and hold through all remaining steps. --Pull starter rope handle sharply 6 times. --Move choke lever to HALF CHOKE position. --Pull starter rope handle no more than 6 pulls, until engine runs. --Allow engine to run 10 seconds, then move choke lever to OFF CHOKE position. RESTARTING A WARM ENGINE --Move choke lever to OFF CHOKE position. --Pull starter rope handle until engine runs. --If engine does not start in 5 pulls, follow instructions in STARTING A COLD ENGINE.

If the starter is whining while the engine is running at an idle you have a problem with the ignition switch or the starter solenoid is stuck. The starter should not be engaged while the engine is running unless you are holding the key over on the start position.

The crankshaft position sensor is at the rear of the engine where it joins with the transmission bellhousing. It is at the left (front) side, not far from the starter.
