Key West, Florida, claims to be the southernmost point in the continental United States. And it has a marker in the shape of a buoy to say so. It is only 90 miles away from Cuba. The Hawaiian Islands are actually further south. But they are not part of the continental United States.

I'm pretty sure it's Key West, Florida.

That's also the only major city in the continental U.S. in which the temperature has not dropped below freezing during the past 30 or 40 years. The last time I checked, the lowest temperature was 43° F.
