As the source impedance is equal to load impedance, it is assumed that both the resistances are in series. This distributes the whole voltage equally between both the impedance. Hence the PD across external resistance will be 1V.

Why rotor contactor in external resistance of slipring motor connected in delta?

rotor contactor are used to cut the resistance in slip-ring motor connected through resistance box. resistance is proportional to torque. so by controlling rotor contactor resistance can be controlled and hence torque can be controlled. for more information check torque and speed characteristic of wound motor.

Why is the rotor winding of a synchronous motor connected to an external resistance during start up?

because at start the motor draws larger quantity of current and this may affected the rotor windings in order to limit current always resistance is connected.

What happens when an electric current encounters resistance?

An electron traveling through the wires and loads of the external circuit encounters resistance.

What allows current to pass in an AC circuit in spite the presence of dielectric in the capacitor?

There are two types of electric current: 'conduction current' and 'displacement current'. Normal current flow, for example, electron flow in a metal conductor, is an example of 'conduction current'.'Displacement current' takes place within dielectrics, such as the dielectric that separates the plates of a capacitor. When a potential difference is applied across a dielectric, the majority of electrons cannot move as they are tied to their individual atoms. However, the shape of the electron orbits around their nucleii, become distorted or elongated ('polarised'), with their 'negative centre' attracted towards the external positive potential, and their 'positive centre' attracted towrds the external negative potential. Whenever the magnitude of the external potential difference changes, so too does the amount of distortion of the electron orbits. We call this a 'displacement current', and it only occurs when the potential difference applied to the dielectric changes. As a.c. potential difference is continually changing in magnitude and direction, so too does the resulting displacement current. So, when we apply a.c. voltage to a capacitor, a displacement current takes place within the dielectric, while a conduction current takes place around the external circuit.

What is the type of energy that comes out of a battery?

Potential chemical energy is released as electrical energy when the external circuit is connected.

What is practical voltage source?

in case of ideal voltage source we consider the internal resistance to be zero.but in practical, every battery has some internal resistance then if you connect a load resistance across the terminals of that source, the net potential difference's across the voltage source will be a function of external resistance connects it won't give constant voltage across it's terminals.

What does an external hardrive do?

An external hard drive is a device similar to your computer's hard drive. The difference is that it is portable. You can save files on it and it can be connected to most other computers.

When checking resistance does the power have to be off?

Short answer: yes. Most modern multimeters will not be damaged by external power when measuring resistance. But they will give erroneous readings. It is best to remove the power and disconnect the measured resistance from the larger circuit. A multimeter determines resistance by applying a small voltage, and measuring the resulting current. If the resistor has an external voltage source, then it will interfere with the measurement. Furthermore, if the resistance is connected to a larger circuit, then the resistance of this larger circuit will also be involved.

How do you generate electricity using a semiconductor p-n junction?

When light shines on a semiconductor p-n junction, the energy from photons can create electron-hole pairs, generating a potential difference across the junction. This potential difference can create an electric current when connected to an external circuit, allowing for the generation of electricity through the photovoltaic effect.

What is difference between internal modem and external modem on the basis of UART and price?

An internal modem is housed within the main computer. An external modem is on the outside of the computer and connected to the computer with a cable.

What is external resistance?

External voltage is the ration when there is an increase in current and voltage. If you apply voltage to the outside of a circuit and need to figure out the amount of current flow, that would be the external resistance.
