You can close the box of the question you just answered and it will be back at the previous list of questions.
How do you get your question in the list of unanswered questions?
When your question is asked it will appear in the unanswered questions until other questions are asked and it will slowly fall lower in the list until it leaves the list. You do not have to do anything but ask the question to get it in the unanswered questions list.

Click the 'My contributions' link in the left-hand blue panel. That will bring up a list of everything you've done here. Use the drop-down filter - and choose 'Questions (asked)'. That will narrow the list to just the questions you've posted. Then - just click each question in turn to see the answer(s) people have posted to them.

Well, a question that has not been answered. The suffix un- means not. Therefore, unanswered means not answered. Such as, he asked me a question, and I did not answer it so it remained unanswered. Happy to help!
