There are 4 different Vortec engines for that year. Stock horsepower at the crank are: The 4.3L (262ci) Vortec V6 has 190hp The 5.0L (305ci) Vortec V8 has 230hp The 5.7L (350ci) Vortec V8 has 255hp The 7.4L (454ci) Vortec V8 has 290hp
Look under your engine specs in your manual or online and it should be the 8 character or so that tells you most likely have a 5.0L (305ci) or a 5.7(350ci) with a 5 speed transmission.

The base engine is the 350ci L48 V8 that puts out 180hp and the optional engine is the 350ci L82 V8 that puts out 210hp.
