This is a question of opinion, and therefore everyones answer will be bias. Theres no reason why Scotland cant be an independent nation if we should choose too.
From a Scottish perspective:
There just some of the points, its up to you to make up your own mind
Yes. Scotland is part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It freely voted to joined the Union of the "United Kingdom" and has in 2014 freely voted to maintain this position. It is not a country occupied and ruled by an external power and is therefore independent.
Scotland's status is similar to individual states within the United States. Scotland's Parliament is able to legislate on most things apart from defence, foreign policy and currency.
Yes. Although both countries are also part of The United Kingdom of Great Britain.
It isn't. The referendum held on 18 September 2014 had 1.6 million people voting for an independent Scotland and 2 million voting to remain part of the UK.
No. Scotland is on the island of Great Britain and shares a common border with England.
no they are separate countries but they are part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain
They are four separate countries but are all part of the European Union.
Two. In Tudor times England and Wales were united but Scotland was a separate country.
England and Scotland
Scotland is a separate country within the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Until 1707 Scotland and England were both independent countries, but in 1707 The act of union created the united Kingdom, Scotland and England legally ceased to exist, Wales was considered part of England having been conquered during the 13th and 14th centuries. In reality both countries kept their individual identities, although many English people and those from overseas came to see England and the UK as being synonymous. In 1999 Scotland achieved devolution, which means there is now a Scottish parliament dealing with matters that affect Scotland, whereas before these matters were dealt with by the overwhelmingly English Westminster parliament.
The English and Scottish flags come from when England and Scotland were separate countries and there was no such thing as the United Kingdom/Kingdom of Great Britain before the year 1707.
There is no usch mountain range although the Cheviot Hills separate the two countries.
England is 130,395 km squared. Scotland and Wales are separate countries, they are not part of England and so wouldn't be included in calculating the size of England. They would only be considered when measuring the size of the United Kingdom mainland.
England, Scotland, and Ireland
No Scotland has a separate system.
The other countries are England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
