Islam (the Muslim religion) was founded by prophet Muhammed in Saudi Arabia.
Sikhism was founded by Guru Nanak, originally a Hindu from India.
Although the religions may have somethings in common they are not directly related like for example, Islam and Christianity which share history and religious figures.
Many People have an idea about the religion Islam, that it was founded 1400 years a ago and prophet muhammed(sal) was the founder of Islam, which is a total a misconception. Islam was there time immemorial(since man kept foot on earth) and prophet muhammed(sal) was not the founder of Islam, but he was the last and final messager of ALLAH(god) sent on the face of earth.
