I don't know the answer to this, but would suspect they change as the engines are developed.Suggest you have a look on the sensors you have for a manufacturers part number,if they match you should be ok.
The 2.2L Ecotech engine does not have a Camshaft Position Sensor. It has a unique type of ignition system which consist of Ignition Module, Ignition Coil Assembly, and a Crank Sensor.
Open your bonnet look where the ecotec cover is to the left of that there will be a wire that goes in a gap that's 4 your cam sensor
where are the camshaft position
the camshaft sensors are located on the back of the heads under the air cleaner duct.
Most Camshaft Positioning Sensors are "Plug and play", if not I do not recommend playing with it if you are unsure have a mechanic do it.
There is only one camshaft position sensor on the 4.6L V8's
On crankshaft position sensor, one camshaft position sensor.
Camshaft sensors were not used on any of the Chevy Celebrity 2.5L, 2.8L or 3.1L engines
there is no timing belt sensor, only camshaft position sensors and crankshaft position sensor.
Yes. Cam sensor will determine the rotation of the camshaft, and if it does not sense it 'turning' the sensor will not allow the engine to start (it protects damaging the engine). Faulty camshaft or crankshaft sensors will stall engine and prevent restart until replaced.
where is the camshaft position sensor for 2003 altima 3.5
The Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) is located at the rear of the engine, in the top center of the block. You have to remove the intake manifold to access it .... it is directly behind the knock sensors at the back of the engine.
