Emo originated from a type of music with deep,depressing lyrics.The style just came along afterward.
If you feel the need to express yourself in a gloom,dark way,then that's who you are and you should be able to call yourself emo.
but cutting was just a sterotypical thing that tagged along with the emo thing.Self Mutilation only shows how weak and pityful you are and you shouldn't do it because it is dangerous!
Yeah don't cut. believe me, I've tried it, and it will ruin your social life. DON'T CUT.
don't cut i have and recently stopped. it's not fun. but unlike a lot of people i had reasons. but i do regret it. the scars don't go away so don't think they will. eventually you will become addicted to it.
