well they say u have to change it at 105,000 miles to avoid damage to the engine. I drove mine to 114,000 miles and and the dealer quote me 800 plus to the the job. I went to a little man shop bought the parts and he did the work just fine. New timing belt and alternator belt and new water pump for 346 and some change here in Ohio. trust me its not that expensive and shop around shops before u do this. I got quotes from 417 to 393 and so forth.
160,000 miles (or 10 years)
On the passenger side, just under the timing belt.
How do I change oil and oil filter on 2000 Volvo v40 1.9turbo
how to change timing belt for 2003 1.8 liter turbo volkswagon engine
take it to the dealer and pay them. its too hard for the average joe to do at home.
The oil to turbo is from the crank case. period no special reservoir. If you want to change the oil for your turbo simply drain the motor oil. I change my oil & filter on my '93 740 hotted up 3K miles even though Volvo says 5K miles No problems
What are you looking to fix. I am a Volvo tech. 89 Volvo 740 turbo runs rich blows black smoke all plugs are black but are not oily rev it up change plugs. wires. coil. air filter.
Yes, but your Volvo will have very little power without the turbo.
The diesel turbo can only fit on a Volvo 850 with a little fabrication.
4 quarts in the non turbo so should be around the same
yes
There is no timing belt, it's a chain and an engine out job to replace.
