Hatred towards the Aztecs that arose due to Aztec expanding influence and territory, wars, conflicts and those kind of things. 2. A hope they will receive something in return, be it power, riches, control, etc... However, even though they helped Cortez, the only thing they received in return was the same fate the Aztecs faced.
