Air in your brake system.Bleed them and that should fix your problem. If you just put new pads in,you could have torn the rubber boot on the caliper piston. In that case you either need to rebuild you calipers or buy rebuilt ones.I just went through it myself end that's what happened to me.Either way though, your system needs to be bled of air.you can email me and I can advise you further if needed. scottthebrat@Yahoo.com
Brake system has air in it.
Low fluid level or defective master cylinder.
Posible air in the brake line system. The behavior you described is normal operation. The brake cylinder is power assisted by engine vacuum. When the engine is off you don't have vacuum or the power assist. When the engine is started, the pedal will immediately soften up as the vacuum comes online.
sounds like you have a leak in your Brake Boost Controler, you should also check to see if there is any leaks in the vacuum lines that connect the engine to the brake booster.
I would suspect the Master Cylinder if defective. I had the same problem with my 1978. I replaced the combination valve and it solved the problem after bleeding.
Most automatics require you to depress the brake pedal.
usually they will leak out the back by the booster, your brake pedal will slowly go to the floor at stops or the brake pedal will go right to the floor when pushed.
Something is impairing the brake pedal to go to the floor. Only a mechanic can tell you what is happening.
no! you have air in the brake system or there is no pressure for some reason. look for leaks. bleed the system.
Key on, engine off. (if push button start, press button twice without touching brake) press gas pedal to the floor three times.Key on, engine off. (if push button start, press button twice without touching brake) press gas pedal to the floor three times.
Pedal pumps up fine, but when you run the engine, the brake booster applies more force to the lines. Thus compressing any air that may be in there. You will need to bleed the brakes more. I sometimes bleed the brakes with the engine running to correct this.
no you have a brake fluid leak somewere
