1 male and 1 female will breed, 2 males will fight until 1 is too injured to continue and eventually 1 dies, 2 females, they will still fight. If you have at least 6 female bettas, they won't fight. If you have less than 3, they will fight.
Two males in the same tank will often fight, and if the tank does not offer the opportunity to escape one will often die. However in the right conditions two betta fish can be kept together in the same tank (see: http://blog.robertgentel.com/2008/03/11/two-beta-fish-in-the-same-tank/).
You can if their both females. Male bettas are really agressive. If you put them together they fight to the death and if you put a male and female together you'll end up with babys. If that does happen and you want to have babys then take the male and female from from the tank and keep them seperate. If you don't remove them they will eat the eggs. So yes you can as long as their both female. Also check out my friend's role play website- bettafishstream.webs.com
No.
The only way to have more than 1 male Betta in a tank is to use tank dividers. Some people have had luck with two mild-tempered males in the same tank, but said tank has been over 55 gallons and very densely planted.
A male/female pair is not compatible either. The two sexes only meet up to spawn, when they're not spawning the male will chase the female off. If she can't get away, he'll kill her. And sometimes, visa versa!
You cannot keep 2 females either. Females in a group set up a very strict hierarchy. In a pair that cannot be done and the dominant one will kill the other. Females can be kept in groups of a minimum of 5 in a minimum of 15 US gallons, which should be heavily planted with lots of hiding places. This only really works with spawn siblings.
no 2 femail will fight and 2 mail will fight if you have up to 6 femail bettas in 1 tank they will not fight same go's for mail bettas
Not unless you want them to fight to the death.
never put a female and a male Betta together. you can only put girl Bettas together
yes if you want them to fight.
if female beta fish are put together they would start to fight like the males.
It dies.
No they cannot, also if you put two Betta fish together, they will fight.
No becaUSE THE MALE BETA FISH WILL FIGHT TO DEATH.
Bettas are dumb as rocks. If you put another betta, any other anabantid like a gourami, or any long-finned fish in with a betta, the betta will fight it because he will think it's another betta. If you put a short-finned fish in with your betta, they'll live together peacefully.
Nothing will happen but if you put a female betta fish and a male betta fish their going to figth so make sure to have that thing that separates them male betta fish can figth and if a male betta fish has babies separte them and keep them away from their parents and when they grow up check if their a male or a female if their female put them on the same tank put there might be a lot of females if i was u i will just sale them cuz i think you only have one tank but thats my opinion and if somebody needs a question just tell me my name is Allison Hamilton
it depends some fish can be less aggressive than others i had a male Betta that lived fine for years with gold fish
no
they all fight to the death. Samantha
Gold fish require water below 70F and Bettas require water above 75F so they should not be kept together.
Betta fish are best as a solitary fish and are not compatible with goldfish.
You put them together when the female is full of eggs, and when the male builds a bubble nest.
