4.4.1 - Time Restrictions
A licensed driver (Class E or higher) who is under the age of 17 may not operate a motor vehicle between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., unless accompanied by a driver who is 21 years of age or older and holds a valid driver license (Class E or higher), or the operator is driving to or from work. A licensed driver (Class E or higher) who is 17 years of age may not operate a motor vehicle between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., unless accompanied by a driver who is 21 years of age or older and holds a valid driver license (Class E or higher), or the operator is driving to and from work
Actually, it's illegal to operate a motor vehicle in violation of your permit restrictions in any state. This is per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In many states, and I believe Florida is one of them is a felony. Your car is impounded without the possibility of release, even if you offer money. In other words, confiscated. This is based on my training and experience as when I was in law enforcement we were trained to loosen the safety harness of our gun upon seeing a permit before asking the passenger to prove they had a license. If you're thinking about driving alone DON'T DO IT!! It's not worth the consequences should you be stopped by police.

REPLY FROM EMO SKATER:hi em well i live in Florida and its not illegal to drive when your seventeen in fact you are able to aquire a actual drivers license at the age of 17 if you had acquired a learners license at 15 or 16 you must have a learners license for one full year before obtaning your drivers license unless you are 18 then you may go to the dmv and take your written test then your drivers test in the same day but if you had your learners perm and now you want your licens after a full year go and get it. p.s to the bottom reply acording to the Florida drivers handbook of 08 you get freedom when you have your learners permit for months then you may drive from the time of 5am to 1am with a passenger 21 or older but that's only after you have your learners for 6 months
On the back of the lic. it says we can drive to work and from school. And in the book it also says so.
I think that you should be able to, because if you can drive to work than why can't you drive to school. If you have a job after school than you need your car to take from school to work.

No it doesn't work like that... Those are for those who have received their licenses and are those ages... I figured this out after much thought so don't even risk this...
When you turn 17, you'll get a little more freedom, and be allowed to drive alone between 5 a.m. and 1 a.m., unless driving to or from work or accompanied by a licensed driver who's 21 or older.
Work permits are required in many states, but they are NOT required in Florida.
"Work Permits" and/or "Working Papers" are not required in Florida and are not issued by either schools or a governmental agency in Florida. Unfortunately, many popular teen employers use applications with the request "If you are under 18, can you supply a Work Permit?" These applications are being used for businesses that have operations in other states that do require Work Permits. The question is not applicable in Florida.

Depends on which permit you have.
You Can Drive But Make Sure You Read The Laws. :)
In Florida, a work permit is not needed.
NOOOOOOO!!!
Come and help answer the question!
not till you git your drivers license you cant do it with your permit.
Yes you are allowed to drive to school and back with a permit. You may also drive to work and back and the same for church. As long as you drive safely and stay out of trouble while driving to school or work or church and don't do otherwise.
No you can't...your learner's permit allows you to drive only with a licensed driver over 21...your primary license (or whatever its called...the one you get for the first 6 months of your license) allows you to drive to school, work, church, and drive a sibling places.
i am work permit holder i can drive in Singapore
No, at least not in NC
No, Florida does not require that minors have a work permit.
After 3 months between the hours 8 am and 10 pm
no, if you're 17 you can get your license without having your permit. but if you don't have your license.... no driving by yourself!
To furnish a work permit you must, visit your school counselor and ask for a work permit. Your counselor will help you. The permit will need to be signed by both school and work. The work will then file it.
you cant without a licence. or permit
