No. It won't bolt up, the bell housings are different for a V8 and V6.
You said it right there, they are transversely mounted. The engine is made to bolt up to a front wheel drive transmission and all accesories are driven differently.
no it is not. the bolt pattern on the back of the engine where the transmission bolts up is different. the cavalier is front wheel drive, the s-10 is rear wheel drive
There is no 5.7L engine for 2007 Suburbans
You have to change the tailpiece on the transmission to one from a 4x4 transmission so the transfer case will bolt to it There is probably more to it than that, depending on the transmission. Usually the output shaft of the transmission has to be changed, and that means disassembly of the entire transmission. Research the exact transmission and transfer case combination before you buy a 2 wheel drive transmission and HOPE it will fit.
NO. All 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive transmissions are DIFFERENT. There is a center shaft that runs through the transmission and the 4-wheel drive transmission shaft is longer so the transfur case will slide up on it. The center shaft in the 2-wheel drives are shorter. NO NEED FOR A TRANSFUR CASE.
It will if the 400 Trans. is for a 4-wheel drive. 2 and 4 wheel drive transmissions are different. The center shaft that runs through the transmission on 4-wheel drives are longer so the transfur case will slide up on it.
I assume you are asking if those two engines are interchangeable. If they are both front wheel drive engines of the same year then they will most likely interchange. If one is out of a rear wheel drive in line car and the other is a front wheel drive then they will probably not interchange. If they are both rear wheel drive engines of the same year then they will probably interchange. The starter on an in line rear wheel drive car is on the intake side of the car while the starter on a front wheel drive model is on the exhaust side of the engine. The location of the bolt holes for the front engine mount also varies on different models. I am told that there are four different versions of the 2.5L engine. Bottom line: If the starter is on the same side and they have matching motor mount bolt holes then they will likely interchange.
YES they are the SAME transmissions. DIRECT BOLT IN SWAP. Just remember that 4-wheel and 2-wheel drive transmissions will NOT interchange.
It could be fly wheel bearing You may have missed a bolt, check to be sure.
no you do not have to remove driver side wheel and there is 3 bolt that hold it to the transmission and one bolt threw the center. the 3 bolt should be 15mm head and the one that in center the nut is 15mm and the bolt 17mm
bolt pattern is 7x4.5
The SVX was, unfortunately, never available with a manual transmission. The SVX does however use the Subaru EG33 flat 6 engine that is derived from the EJ22 flat 4 engine. Manual transmissions for the EJ22 can are compatible with the EG33 and are commonly swapped in. Subaru Legacy manual transmissions from '95 and '96 bolt directly on to the EG33 but body mounts and drive shafts must be modified to complete the swap. It is worth noting that a few SVXs were produced with front wheel drive to lower cost in an attempt to increase sales in '94 and '95. Obviously, if you want a manual in the front wheel drive version you won't be able to use a transmission from another Subaru as they all have all wheel drive.
