really anything connected to the internet can get a virus, even game systems like psp's can get viruses. allthough, the kindle fire dose have a good built in virus-scanner, so you should be okay. However if you suspect yourself of having a virus you should delete whatever programs you suspect of holding this virus. i have this same question, I thought it was impossible to get viruses for the kindle fire, turns out I was wrong. Allthough I wouldn't worry too much, I've never gotten a virus before.

They are there for a reason and if you download files to them a virus will attach to your computer. Some Viruses are The Ropetelka Virus, The Kindle Yah Vrius, The Ponderwonder Virus, The Opalgogue Virus, The Fish n' Hook Virus, The Yankee Rock Virus, and The Google Informat Virus.
