Yes it can. If the oxigen sensor is bad, the computer keeps getting signals of deficient combustion and will try to vary the amout of fuel going into de injectos. This can cause the car to stall.
Yes, that is one of many possibilities.
Camshaft position sensor. There is a recall for them i believe. It will cause cutting out and stalling. It happened to ours too. Camshaft position sensor. There is a recall for them i believe. It will cause cutting out and stalling. It happened to ours too.
The MAP sensor - another frequent cause of stalling or non-starting. This measures the air pressure in the manifold. You can test it - if your car won't start, just unplug the electrical connection from the MAP sensor. If it starts, replace the sensor. MAP sensor details. (It may act as though the fuel pump is not working properly - starting, then quickly dying).
A fuel rail pressure regulator could cause trouble.
Egr valve does not cause stalling. it does not open at idle. I would look at oxygen sensor, then check the gas for water. The EGR can be cleaned, but my EGR valve is 10 years old and did not need cleaning. Also look at plugs and wires.
yes definitely my 96 Chevy was stalling every time i stopped at a light or stop sign and my brother changed my crank shaft sensor and it doesn't do it anymore.
I had that same exact problem with a 1995 Jeep Cherokee, and it was indeed a bad oxygen sensor. Relatively cheap repair too.
A malfunctioning oxygen sensor can cause the engine to be low on power.
Not directly. The oxygen sensor measures oxygen levels in the exhaust. The computer uses that to calculate fuel and spark timing. If an oxygen sensor is malfunctioning, it could cause idle problems. Not directly. The oxygen sensor measures oxygen levels in the exhaust. The computer uses that to calculate fuel and spark timing. Answersame problem I have.I think throtle position sensor and speed sensor can cause thise problem.try first any adjustment on throtle sensor then speed sensor. may be both wear out.A faulty ABS speed sensor can give you those symptoms. Just to eliminate the possibility, remove the ABS fuse and take it for a test drive. If the problem goes away you have found the problem.
It sure can.
Souds like vaccum leak, anywhere between MAF sensor and intake manifold.
