It could but, have the battery tested before you purchase a new starter.

I need to know how to change a starter on a 93 Chevy z71 Unhook battery cables from battery, take the ground wire off starter, take power wire off starter, take the 2 bolts out of starter and should come right out
Sounds like a bad connection on the starter. Unhook the battery cables and then take the starter down and LOOK at the starter wires and make sure there tight and not touching each other.
unhook the battery cables for 10 minutes.
Yes. Unhook the battery, unhook the cable and wire at the starter, remove the bolts that hold the starter to the bell housing.
The first step is to unhook the battery.
Disconnect the battery. Unhook the wiring on the end of the solenoid. If there is a support bracket on the end of the starter, unhook it. If the exhaust is in the way, unhook that. Remove the two bolts that hold the starter to the back of the block.
Disconnect the battery. unhook the wires from the starter, then unbolt the unit. Drop the starter and bolt the new one in. Reconnect the wiring and battery.
I am currently having the same issue. First unhook the battery completely. Then you need to find where the wires on the starter are connected to the battery. Detach the wires from the starter that go to the battery. Once you have the starter wires completely detached from battery you can start removal of starter from engine block.
unhook both battery cables for a few minutes
Unhook your battery, locate your starter........ which should be behind A/C compressor there are 4 bolts, two in the front and two behind the starter.
Disconnect negative battery cable at battery. Remove spare tire if under hood. Disonnect starter solenoid trigger wire. Unhook positive battery cable at starter. Remove upper and lower starter mounting bolts. Remove starter. Install in reverse order.
