What does the TPS sensor do?

Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), it detects how open the throttle body plate is to govern how much fuel is delivered to the engine. One of the myriad of inputs your engine control module uses to control your engine. If you are getting a fault code due to the TPS, try cleaning the throttle body out with a spray of throttle body cleaner (not carb cleaner) carbon buildup can cause it to stick. If it does stick open, some vehicles will default to "limp mode" to keep them from accelerating uncontrollably.

Where is throttle position sensor 2003 dodge ram?

If it is an 3.7L or 4.7L engine it is on the throttle body mounted on the side. If it is a hemi engine there are two throttle position sensors. The throttle body is electronic. There is a position sensor mounted underneath the battery hidden behind a cover. The accelerator cable goes from the gas pedal to this sensor. This sensor sends info to the PCM (powertrain control mondule). There is also another position sensor inside the electronic throttle body which tells the PCM what position the throttle plate is at. These throttle bodies on the hemi engines become dirty and cause codes like a P2175 and 2106. It will also make the ETC light flash, and cause low acceleration and limp in mode problems. Cleaning this throttle body will correct this.

What is the turbo limp module 06 Volvo s60?

Limp home mode is just as it sounds. It goes to a preset load of values to allow the car to get you "limp" home or to the repair service. All engine and transmission performace is reduced. There is no such thing as a "turbo limp module".

You put your Nissan Pathfiner 2003 in gear but no rpm to move?

I have had this problem, sometimes the car moves or wait for a while and it will work. Sometimes there is no throttle response at all. The check engine light is not on, or if it is on you have a certain amount of " starts " on the car before the problem reappears, this apparently is called Limp Home Mode, eventually it will not work at all...you can solve temp. by clearing codes on a battery disconnect but will have no data for shop tech. Long story short its the small computer device in the throttle body which does not come separately from the throttle body...only 1 hour labour and cost 1100.00 cdn at the dealer. Hope this was helpful.
