Can a pregnant woman be asked not to work because a company doesn't want to take the risk of her having a miscarriage?

Canadian law says no! As long as the pregnant woman can do her job then she can stay on, but some companies will have her sign a waiver resolving the company of all responsibility. If the company should ask the person to leave around 6 - 8 months along then they would have to pay the mother-to-be full wages.

If you think you pregnant n have a brownish discharge or heavey bleeding with clots i suggest seeing a doctor asap. It could mean a miscarriage an you may need medical attention, or even a prolong period may seen like a miscarriage. Either way seeing a doctor is the best way to go.
