Not eligible for medicaid in Texas with a drug felony (pain meds, not street drugs)....even if you're below poverty lines...won't qualify for food stamps, or any government assistance of any kind in Texas. I know this first-hand, husband is a convicted felon had a good job driving long haul...had serious heart attack, had a pacemaker/defibrillator put in...can't drive truck anymore (state law) and doctors want him on disability...can't get any kind of state assistance for him because of the drug felony. No help with his meds, dr visits, bills, nothing.
