When the individual has suicidal/homocidal thoughts. First step is to ask the person, "Do you think you are going to harm yourself or someone else?". Stay with the individual, call for help. (911/health professional).

If they have the means to commit suicide that's a warning sign, such as a lot of pills, a knife, a gun. It's important to let them know that there is help out there for them.
