If she is your good friend, you can absolutely ask. Although it was thoughtless of her not to explain in the first place, she may have a good reason. So be sure to ask in a way that invites a real answer --don't immediately put her on the defensive. However, if this is how she chooses to express some sort of displeasure towards you, then she does not seem worth your emotional investment.
