You can but its expensive expect to pay around $400+ per month Ive been in Ontario 4weeks and the only place i could find is www.cooperators.ca.
I just found some insurance for $140 a month with Alberta Motor Association (AMA). I had to become a member but it was worth it! Only catch is I have to transfer to an Alberta licence within 90 days. Maybe there's a similar assoc. in Ontario?
It would be advisable to obtain an International license while driving in Canada, but a valid driver's license from any country is valid at many car rental agencies in the country.
You contact an insurer that offers non owners auto insurance in the state in which you are currently living. Some but not all Insurers will have no problem with your international license.
Yes, you can. You don't have to have a car insurance in order to have a driver's license.
No, not realy, if you have a car then you ned to get a insurance.
You can't get car insurance if your drivers license has been suspended.
No, you do not need to have insurance to get your license in NJ. You can get your license before you even own a car.
How do you get car insurance on the driver only
Not in Canada. If your license is suspended, then any insurance claim that resulted from you driving while suspended would not be covered. If the car was damaged and it was parked and not being operated, then that is covered. But not if you are driving it.
no, only when u have a car u need insurance.
no not if you have no car
Well, dealerships and insurance companies are very strict now, and it would depend on what dealership or insurance agency you're planning on working with. On the insurance, it may be a problem because some agencies just deal with people who have a license in that state. And because you have an international license, your rates may be high anyway. I suggest that you call around to check up on that. I hope that I was a little helpful to you. Yes, Progressive offers auto insurance even if you hold a International Drivers License but you need to own or lease a car to get it. They do not offer insurance on a rented car. While it may be difficult to get your own policy while driving on an International Driver's License, I have found that often you may be added, as a rider, to the policy of a U.S. resident. If you have friends or family, tell them to ask their insurance agent, or have the agent check with the underwriters since the agent may be unfamilliar with this.
I think you need to get a driver's license in any state to get car insurance period. An insurance company will not supply you with insurance if they don't have proof that you are licensed to do so. My suggestion to you...get a license!
