Yes you can. I have. 20 weeks and everything before is considered miscarriage. Anything after 20 weeks is a stillbirth. I lost a girl at 19weeks 5days, she was 6.5 in long and weighed 8 oz. I lost a boy at 22weeks and he was 1lb 1oz.

Sadly you can have a miscarriage at any point of the pregnancy. Fetuses die for many different reasons.

If you are talking about abortion the answer is only if the health is threatened. After that or around then the fetus is viable.

The pregnancy might be diagnosed as ectopic at 17 weeks but it would have been ectopic for the whole time since implantation. The implanted embryo will not pack up and re-implant somewhere else once it is implanted in the uterus.

Miscarriages can occur at any time during a pregnancy, even in the third trimester. A good friend of mine has had five miscarriages all during the second trimester (13-26 weeks).
