Is it possible? Certainly. Is it feasible? Probably not so much. You'll be restricted in engine size, especially as the 96 Maxima is a FF (Front-engine, front wheel drive) car, and will have a transverse engine (cylinders are aligned across, rather than front to back).
You'd have to find an engine that would fit in the engine compartment, and it would likely have to be an engine built for a FF layout vehicle, such as the 3.8 liter V8 used in some models of the Ford Taurus. Then, you'd have to be able to mate it to the transmission... either that would mean an adapter plate, or, more likely, you'd have to replace the entire transmission, as the factory transmission for the car is not rated for the increased horsepower and torque of a V8 engine.
The other option is to find a conventional, rear-wheel drive vehicle which you can fit the body of the Maxima onto. Even then, there'll be a lot of work required.
Yea why not
hi I am working on a nissan maxima 1996, I put a transmission in and it's not starting, the antitheft light is blinking very fast.
no not the same
yes all of the rims up to 09' can fit on any max before it
Yes, the glass style didn't change in those 2 years. But a '94 won't fit the '95
Which oil? Engine, transmission, power steering oil?
Nope, they are different sizes. I have both a 96 and a 97 sitting in my driveway. The 97 grill looks a lot better, but they are not interchangeable.
I own a 2001 maxima se and put 1995 rims on it during the winter. You can do the oposit.
yes All 95-99 Nissan Maxima's have the same body (A32B) and same lug pattern and offset.
There is probably nod difference in the integrity of these bumpers. As long as the rubber(decorative) parts match yours.
yes as long as they are the same engines
Yes, a 1998 Nissan Maxima QX grill from a United States manufacturer will fit on a Nissan Maxima from Belgium if the two vehicles are the same year and make. The standards in the two vehicles are the same.
