Yes, the VW Rabbit will be available in both standard and automatic transmission. The transmission options are a 5 speed manual or 6 speed automatic.
They started making watercooled VWs in 1970, but the first watercooled VW sold in the US was the Rabbit, which was introduced to the US in 1974. In 1983, the Vanagon was changed to a watercooled engine called the "Wasserboxer." ("Wasser" is German for Water, naturlich.) Now, as to this Wasserboxer engine: I have NO idea why they came up with this. The engine has picked up the unfortunate nickname "Wasserleaker" because...well, they all do. The Diesel Vanagon used the Rabbit engine, so I don't know why VW didn't use the gas Rabbit engine in a gas Vanagon. (However, YOU don't have to be so encumbered: quite a few guys have changed Diesel Vanagons to Rabbit gas engines. It is a fairly easy change if you are a good mechanic, but you need to change the transmission to a Gas Vanagon one because the diesel transmission is geared very low.)
Br'er Rabbit is a late-1800's folk character. He is a trouble-making critter who always gets into trouble. He is well-known by his Disney appearance in Splash Mountain, who is almost killed by Br'er Fox.
Not for the plural rabbits. Apostrophes are almost never correct for forming plurals. The word rabbit's could be properly used in two instances:1) the possessive for a single rabbit -- The rabbit's leg was caught in the cage.2) a contraction, rarely used, for is or has -- That rabbit's a lot of trouble.
It can see a rabbit sized animal 1 mile away without trouble

Nope, different engines and different transmissions. I do know for a fact that you can replace the fifth gear in a 1984 Rabbit GTI with the fifth gear from a 1985 Golf without even removing the transmission. How do I know this? I use to own a 1984 GTI and read that for better highway fuel economy and such the fifth gear from a 1985 Golf is taller making it so the engine runs at a much lower rpm. At 70 in fifth gear the engine screams at about 3500 to 4000 rpm on the 1984 GTI, with the simple change the rpm drops to about 1500. there is a access hole covered by a disk just behind the left front tire.
The nursery rhyme about the rabbit in the garden is called "Кролик в огороде" (Krolik v ogrode) in Russian. It tells the story of a mischievous rabbit causing trouble in the garden by eating the carrots and lettuce. The rhyme is popular among Russian children and is often used to teach about nature and gardening.
Yes, the transmission oils just fine. No speed or distance limits.
