Yes you can remove the rear fiberglass roof (although it can be dangerous in a roll over). All you do is remove the trim around the rear top. After you remove the trim remove the bolts that go all the way around the top (you're gonna need a special torx bit since the bolts are the tamper-proof kind). After you remove the bolts you have to lift the top up and back away from the cab at the same time. There are guide poles that stick down about an inch from the rear bottom edges of the top, so be careful you dont break them off. You will also have to remove the plug for the rear break light on the top. It's by the rear driver's side corner. Also remember to unbolt the rear shoulder belts that are mounted to the roof on 92-96 models. The top is pretty heavy (about 180 pounds) so get somebody to help you with it. It's pretty bulky so it helps to have someone else to help you balance it. Be sure to set the top on something, not just the floor, so you won't damage the bottom edges or else it might not seal back properly when (or if) you put it back on. Step by step directions can be found in a Haynes (or other company's) Auto Repair Manual for an 80-96 Ford F-Series/Bronco which you can buy at any good local auto shop for around 20 bucks. These also have lots of other helpful information for minor (and major) repairs you might do.
Note- removing the top off of a Ford Bronco 1992 or newer renders the car illegal for street driving because of the third tail light and shoulder seat-belts mounted on the roof. It's okay if you have a 1991 or older Bronco, or just drive off-road with the top off, but Ford never intended the roof to come off of the newer Broncos on-road.
no, because it has integral tail lamps in the roof and the seatbelts arent connected to the top
you get a hack saw and cut it off or get an alluminion blade to saw it off
Remove the interior trim along the rear windows and between the cab and fiberglass roof. Take out all the bolts that you expose. Slide the roof back slightly then lift it and set it down somewhere safe.
yes , top can be removed. remove trim along bottom sides of top, also remove trim where front of top meets roof of cab then remove bolts that hold top to vehicle. then with some buddies, lift top off
how to remove oil pan from 1989 bronco 2
The Bronco's design was intended to have the top come off so every year bronco's top can come off but they only make soft tops up to 77 for the bronco so before you try to take yours off think about getting a custom made one or the seal of the roof wont be the same.
No, take it off your roof. It will pool up water come spring, and might dent your roof.
you will probably have to take the headliner down to get to the nuts that hold the rack to the roof.
It is safe do to so depending on how much snow there is. Start off with standing on a ladder and shoveling it off of the roof. Get as far up as you can and then you can slowly ease your way onto the roof.
first we need to know where you want to remove the ice from-- and lets not forget -- the roof rake is meant for pulling snow off the roof not ice
Someone at one point and time may of had the steering wheel off and never re-connected the wires, I think that you have to remove the pad in the middle of the wheel to access the wires.
In the inside of the door there should be a piece of metal that unscrews. You just take it off a walah.
