Yes, people do it all of the time. As long as the width of the seat fits in the cab the way you like it (they usually do) then the only other thing to worry about is the holes in the floor for mounting. You will have to put the new seat in, mark where the bolt holes need to be, pull the seat back out and drill the holes. I have a 1963 Chevy and a 1965 Chevy.
