In certain recipes yes, though I personally think the flavor is compromised when substituting oil for butter (haven't found an oil based brownie I liked better then a butter based). Your best bet it is to find a brownie recipe that specifically uses oil instead of butter for optimal results. As a general rule substitute 3 parts oil for every 4 parts butter and consider increasing the amount of sugar and eggs in the recipe to help make up for the increased density. But again I would recommend using an already oil based brownie recipe. But yes it is possible.
Yes you can! It is equal volume as well ( 1 cup oil is 2 sticks butter). However butter has water in it so it is best to add about 1 tablespoon of water to the oil for every 1/2 cup.
Canola oil is vegetable oil, just a specific kind. It is the healthiest type to use right below or beside olive oil.
sure you could.... they just wouldn't taste very good :)
Absolutely yes! Any mild flavoured oil or melted butter will do just fine.

which type of bond is found in canola oil, but not in butter
Not really. They have different properties and cook differently. You can sometimes use olive oil to saute something in place of butter, but if the recipe calls for butter, use butter. Sometimes you can substitute vegetable oil or canola oil, but not olive oil.
I normally replace with half shortening and half butter. It works fine.
Canola is not a dairy product so there is no butter in canola oil. However if you are looking for a substitute, you could use a tablespoon of butter instead of a tablespoon of canola oil. If you were using cups rather than tablespoons, you may need to make a slight adjustment on the liquids.http://canolaeatwell.com/ask-judy-canola-oil-and-baking/
Yes (if we are talking about real butter, not canola oil)

I hope you will find your answer on this blog consumersreport.review/canola-oil-substitute-for-butter/
Canola can substitute 2 sticks of butter by using 16 tbsp of oil. For every 1/4 cup butter, use 4 tablespoons vegetable oil.
Animal fat, butter, olive oil, canola oil, coconut oil and cocoa butter are reasonable alternatives to palm oil.
if you put to much, then yeah
For a low-cholesterol diet, toss the butter, trans fat margarines, and polyunsaturated oil. Replace them with canola oil, olive oil, or plant sterol spreads.
