Without any mods, NO you need a stand alone computer to run 42RLE. Powertrain control solutions will build you one. You need the original wires from the tranny to the fire wall . Send the wires to them and they will marry it to their computer. I want to do the same thing. I would buy a tranny and Tcase as a unit out of a wreck then the splines will be correct. Most Likely it is a 45RFE. The 2003 and on have a 42RLE. The 45 will handle more torque. It was used in Dodge trucks and Grand Cherokee.
Manual is a AX15, automatic is a 32RH (a904)
