Yes you can. There the same. Just take the parts / sending unit out of the 1987 tank and install them in the 1986 tank.

Are you asking how do you swap and air tank on an air rifle, or swap for and air rifle? In most air rifles you put it on safe and swap out the tank by unscrewing it and replacing it.
There are two size fuel tanks if this blazer in question is the s-10 version. 13.2 gallon i believe is for the 4cyl model and the 20 gallon is for the v6 size

I believe the 1986 blazer holds 15 gallons but actual gallons is 16,this allows for you to have a little gas so you don't run out. The standard is 15 gallons. most are 22

95 blazer, 2 dr, ls, with 4 or six cyl has a twenty gallon tank.
You must remove the fuel tank, unless you can access the pump without removing it. I have seen some people remove the bed instead of removing the fuel tank. Your choice.
The fuel pump for the 1990 full size blazer is located inside of the fuel tank. If this model does not have an access plate in the floor of the blazer then the tank will have to be removed to get to the pump.
In the gas tank. You have to remove the tank to access it.
