Ive been on suboxone for 2 years and wellbutrin for 2 months. i will take .5 mg of xanax here and there if i cant sleep. I am tolerant to the suboxone and have taken benzos i.e "xanax in the past. the combination of the 3 if not taken at the same time is fine if you have tolerance to the suboxone and the xanax. if your a noob and haven't taken these meds that much then never ever mix them it could kill you because both are respiratory depressants which will stop your breathing if the person is not used to the medications. Talk to your Dr. if you have one thats always the best advice.

I have personally overcome a pretty good sized addiction problem and was treated using a xanax and suboxone combination. Being an addict I learned early on that it was not the best course of treatment. I will inevitably abuse anything. Suboxone itself will make you sleepy so the combination of xanax just increases these effects. I do not recomment using the two together unless you have serious mental or emotional concerns that warrant this medication. Xanax is very addictive and they do not inform patients that suboxone is as well. Being prescribed suboxone to get off of another opiate is just silly. You will suffer withdrawal symptoms upon the cessation of this medication and are just prolonging the agony of the withdrawal from the original opiate you were addicted to. I know that is seems virtually impossible to stop the opiate without the help of suboxone or xanax but you can trust in the fact that it is the best course of action. Nobody ever said it was going to be easy... it's sincerly not. I can't say that I even stopped without the help of suboxone or xanax but I can tell you that I am no further ahead now than I was when I was abusing opiates. If you take soboxin in the am can you take a xanax that night?
SUBOXONE is a partial opiate agonist, which means it has a ceiling effect as to how high it can get you, where as methadone is full agonist. Taking xanax with any type of opiate is dangerous especially if you don't have a tolerance with both or even just one of the two. Even if you have a tolerance it is dangerous. I have had too many close friends die from this. I am on suboxone my doctor subscribes me to take 16mg. a day. I have spoke with him about the use of any benzos ie xanax and he told me he has seen some patients die or OD from the use. On the webpage from the makers of suboxone they say it is extremely dangerous. I tried it in a low point going back to my junkie mentality to catch a nod. I took a 0.5 pill of xanax in the morning. then another 4 hours later. (I don't have a tolerance to xanax) It made me nod a little, not like herion or dilaudid but it did seem like I was high, kinda of like a vicoden buzz. When I took the second one the effects were more noticable. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS but I didn't die but you might everyone is different. As for taking it at night, that wouldn't make a difference because buphrenephrine the partial opiate in suboxone is active for up to 72 hours, so it would have the same effect on you if you were to take it in the morning right after your sub dissovles under your tongue.
