No you cannot. The governers for transimissions have set spring tension for that specific model transmission. If you install an incorrect governer you will find that you will have shifting problems, or no shift at all.
4L60E, 700R4, Th400, Th350. The 4.3L is basically a Small Block 350 with two cylinders cut off, so any transmission that works with a Small Block Chevy will mate to a 4.3.
the th350 pan is more of a defined square shape with a corner cut off and the rear of the case is basically smooth. the th400 has more an undefined and not square pan with ribs or fins at the rear of the case.
Sounds like a vent problem. Check the breather on top of the case to see if it's blocked.
NO. You would also have to change the transmission and install a 2-wheel drive transmission. The center shaft in the 4-wheel drive transmissions are longer so the transfer case will work.
Take the bottom pain off
The governor is behind a cover on the side of the tranny, the cover is held in by 4 bolts, undo the bolts ,take the cover off, then turn the governor counter clock wize as you pull it out.
It could be done, but, IMO, not worth it. You'd be better off going with a GM small block and a 700R4 transmission.
Most of these had the 4L60 (700R4 updated) Some had the 4L80 (overdrive lock up variant of the old 400) if the diesel, Big block or towing or off road option packages were included
have to get a radiator for a eight cylinder, a new transmission(700R4), change the yoke off the driveshaft so its goes into the Chevy tranmission, probably a rear end with stronger gears, run a new exhauts or just get headers.... probably fix the motor mounts and the transmission mount....
Remove the tail housing. Remove the snap rings on the output shaft. Remove the small snap ring on the weight side of the govenor. Slide the valve and pin out the oposite side. Remove the 4 bolts that hold the governor to the governor support. Slide the governor off the output shaft.
To remove the governor off a Baja 90cc refer to your owners manual. Many newer models do not have a governor.
It has no governor. Speed is controlled by the ECU.
