changed battery in 2000 chrystler sebring and now will not idle
Turning the lights on put a load on the alternator causing the idle speed to drop. I would have the battery and charging system tested to make sure everything is okay. The battery may be on its way out.
If the check engine light does not come on when your truck dies it's probably the idle air control valve
Because u are pullin powert from the battery which makes the alternator kick on to keep the battery charged.....
hmm you can try the idle control valve
changed the air idle control solenoid
Hard to say as it depends on the battery and how good it is. A good battery can sit for 6 months and easily still start a car and 1 year is not out of the question.
If a Zx2 shudders and dies out at stops and idle, the idle might need adjusted. If the idle is set too low, it will not maintain enough power.
Check the alt & idle speed.
The idle sensor needs changed. Just had mines changed, I was having the same problem as you are having
You may have to clean throttle body if battery was disconnected for a while so pcm can relearn proper idle speed.
To test the alternator if funds are low, let the motor idle and remove the negative battery cable, if the motor dies its probably the alternator.
Double check and make sure it is the right battery for your car, sometimes the auto parts guys get it wrong.
