I am wondering why you need to know. I have replaced the oil pan on my Mercury Village twice at a cost of 550 the first time and 600 this past week. The first time, I hit a ditch and punctured it. The last time, we don't know what happened. My mechanic says it looks like the oil pan was dragged down the highway for a few miles. We didnt' hit anything and don't know why it wore through. Is this problem typical for a Village? My wife has a Villager, the oil pan sits very low to the ground. She hit a broken off tail pipe and put a nice hole in hers. There are no known issue with the pan itself. Just very low.
Could be just the strainer, or the oil pump itself. First drop the oil pan and clean it.
But you may just want the replace the oil pump sense you've got it apart.
try changing trans strainer and fluid. I had that problem before and it worked. The strainer was clogged and fluids wasn't reaching trans. The stick showed it to be full, however the strainer was clogged.
The strainer may be clogged. Try removing and cleaning it.
The primary cause for jerking on a 99 Mercury Cougar is the engine not getting enough fuel. This can be a sign of a clogged fuel filter, bad fuel pump, or clogged fuel injectors.
The best option is to purchase a sink strainer to place ontop of the opening to the drain. This will prevent hair and soap and dirt reside from staying inside the drain.
There are two cat concerters on that van - were they both changed?
Your tank filter should be changed every month. If your filter becomes clogged, it should be changed right away.
Incorrect filter, defective filter, weak oil pump, clogged oil pump strainer, clogged oil galleys, worn engine bearings, defective oil pressure gage, or defective oil pressure sending unit.
Yes, I just had a clogged filter for my 05 corolla changed along with the filter.
Just replace it if you have not done so in the last 36,000 miles. or if you suspect it is clogged.
Hi, Check to see if your vehicle need to have the thermostat changed or if the radiator is clogged which will make the antifreeze not flow to keep your engine cool. Clogged radiators is a known issue. Hope this helps you.
There are couple reasons for that. First one is a clogged fuel filter. Second is fuel pump relay has to be changed. Third one is the fuel pump has to be changed. Sometimes fuel pressure valve has to be changed too.
Based on the information, I assume it is the fuel filter you changed, that you have good spark and have done a fuel pressure check. I doubt that ALL the injectors would be clogged. I would think the fuel pump is faulty.
