no probably have a stopped up heater core or air in coolant system also temp should get to around 190 at least also check that engine fan isn't running all the time
water pump
You could have a problem with your thermostat in the car.
check your heater core is it overheating?
It could be that your head gasket is blown.
the heater core water pump hoses including the heater hoses
the heater control has a thermostat for the heater only. that thermostat needs replacing
it could be the thermostat needs to be changed or the heater core needs to be flushed out.these would be the cheaper things to try first.
the heater core could be pluged or the heater control valve is stuck closed
Most common things are Thermostat or a bad heater core but could also be something blocking the door down by the heater core. I changed my Thermostat and Heater control Valve to find out a pencil fell in the defroster and prevented the door from closing. Hope this helps.
Yes. If the thermostat is not staying closed long enough for the engine to warm up adequately, you will not get heated coolant into the heater core and the heater will not blow warm air. Change the thermostat for a 195 and you should get plenty of heat. It could also be as simple as not having enough coolant. worst case senerio would be a bad heater core.
If the problem is that the air never gets warm, it's most likely a stuck-open thermostat. If not that, heater core may be plugged.
The thermostat may be stuck open.
